How Do You Get Protein On Raw or Juice Detox?

I get this question often and apparently over 78,000,000 have googled this question, and I know why. If people have been taught over the years about animal proteins but have not gotten information on plant proteins, amino acids and the breakdown and usage of them by our bodies then pertinent info would be lacking. The Standard American Diet (SAD), consists of entirely too much animal proteins, fat and sugar!

Excerpt from "The China Study", by Dr. T. Colin Campbell: I then noticed a research report from India that had some very provocative, relevant findings.
Indian researchers had studied two groups of rats. In one group, they administered the cancer causing
aflatoxin, then fed a diet that was composed of 20% protein, a level near what many of
us consume in the West. In the other group, they administered the same amount of aflatoxin,
but then fed a diet that was only composed of 5% protein. Incredibly, every single animal that
consumed the 20% protein diet had evidence of liver cancer, and every single animal that
consumed a 5% protein diet avoided liver cancer. It was a 100 to 0 score, leaving no doubt that
nutrition trumped chemical carcinogens, even very potent carcinogens, in controlling cancer.

Day 21 of 21 day juice fast w/JG

Mindset is one of my 4 pillars for your "best body now" and JG did an excellent job keeping a positive mindset during her juice fast. How you ask? By setting a goal and sticking to it. By not saying she would "try" this, but saying she was about to "do" this. By reading and listening to materials that gave her more insight to what to expect. By surrounding herself with people who are encouraging and uplifting. Rock on JG!!!!!!!!

So Much More Than Physical

I never quit on people, but I see many people quit on themselves. Some people put more time and energy into planning a birthday party than in their health choices. If people really knew the value of health and fitness, they would see that it goes way beyond the physical and give it more of a priority. You are worth it! You are worth it! You are worth it! Believe you are worth it!

Do Not Obsess Over Food


You want to enjoy food and eating. You want to look forward to grocery shopping, preparation and anticipation of the pleasures of eating. There is such a sense of peace and well-being automatically attached to healthy eating. Unfortunately, when you eat junk, you are always on an emotional roller coaster. You feel regret and are always having mental battles and feelings of failure. Let's take a look at animals for a second. A cow, bird or horses eat for fuel. They enjoy their meals and they eat what was naturally made for them to eat. You would never see a bird that eats junk and is overweight, stressing about it and has to walk because it can no longer fly.

Reid~Raw Food Chef

I was excited to FINALLY meet Reid bcs I thought he was part of an urban legend lol. So many people told me of a raw food chef that made awesome raw meals and I thought he was made up. Anyway, 2 things really impressed me with his meals:1.The presentation 2.The taste (raw food does not have to taste like dirt). It really caused me to want to get a little more creative with my raw sometimes (I will shoot for gourmet style on the weekends). Is It Good To Drink Red Bull Before Working Out?


It is not good to EVER drink Red Bull! Jessica Alba finishes one as she goes to get her workout on. Energy drinks have become a 1.1 Billion dollar industry. Energy drinks should not be used while exercising as the combination of fluid loss from sweating and the diuretic quality of the caffeine can leave the user severely dehydrated. It does nothing to provide the body with any necessary nutrients or fluids. As a stimulant, caffeine can make you have anxiety attacks, heart palpitations, and insomnia. It will only ad more toxins to an already toxin burdened body and decrease our bodies internal water supply and natural detoxification processes. Not to mention the fact that these drinks are highly addictive because of the high amounts of sugar and caffeine. So please do not fall for the hype. Ignore the brilliant marketing words and phrases they display on the can and just grab your water.

Kirstie On Oprah

This is my vent to Kirstie bcs this clip is RIDICULOUS in so many ways:
1. Kirstie Alley is not making "healthy eating" a lifestyle change, but going in and out of binging and DIEting.
2. 2 people who clearly have not lived the solution are just yapping about the problem.
3. People in the audience laughing that she turned her gym into a dining room. It is not funny that you are on a destructive roller coaster. You are jacking up your health and it is not a joke.
4. How dare you come out with a weight loss solution that you have tested for a stinkin' 5 weeks. You are still obese and have the nerve to tell people to look out for your weight loss system.
VENT OVER..... Kirstie and Oprah you should be ashamed of yourselves, using your influence in such a disastrous way.

Confession Time With JG

Many people do not believe that there are huge consequences to listening to "the voice of doom". The voice that tells you why you deserve the junk food. The voice that tells you it is ok in "moderation". The voice that tells you everybody else is enjoying it, so you shouldn't deprive yourself. Please,Please, No Bulky Popeye Legs!

Ways to ensure that you have the longest, leanest legs possible:
1.Food: Do not skip meals or eat lots of high caloric meals. Eat PLENTY of produce.
2.Fitness: You want to have a variety of cardio(to burn calories) and strength training(to tone and tighten).
3.Stretching: Stretch before, (a few times during) and after working out to elongate the muscle. You can also do yoga on the weekends to intensify the stretches if you are prone to bulk more.
Reminder: Genetics play a role in shape but the above ensures the leanest look you can attain.

Guacamole Recipe


  • 3 avocados - peeled, pitted, and mashed
• 1 lime, juiced
• 1/2 cup diced onion
• 3 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
• 2 roma (plum) tomatoes, diced
• 1 tablespoons minced garlic
• 1 pinch ground cayenne pepper (optional)
• Chopped jalapeƱos (optional)


DIRECTIONS
1. In a medium bowl, mash together the avocados and lime juice. Mix in onion, cilantro, tomatoes, and garlic. Stir in cayenne pepper. Refrigerate 1 hour for best flavor, or serve immediately.


(This is very good for you and WILL NOT MAKE YOU FAT! I usually make this guacamole once or twice per week. I put it on some of my veggie wraps, sandwiches or salads.)
