"I feel pure and happy and much lighter (I dropped the extra pounds that I had gained during a majorly fun and delicious "relax and enjoy life phase" about a month ago)," she wrote to subscribers of her GOOP newsletter.
The cleanse, developed by Gwyneth's doctor and detox diet specialist, Dr. Alejandro Junger, consists of two liquid meals a day with a solid one (no processed foods, dairy, sugar, etc) in between. "I followed it to the letter and I can report that it worked wonders," she wrote.
Some people may ask, "Well, would'nt you gain all the weight back at the end of the detox?" The answer is you should only gain a little water weight back. The key to choosing any detox is to stick to a smart eating plan upon completion and resist the urge to overeat. There are many detox diets out there and are excellent to use a few times a year. But what you eat in between them is SUPER important.
i should probably visit your site more often with all these fitness tips ;)
ReplyDeleteJoy,
ReplyDeleteI am curious what you think of The Master Cleanse (aka The Lemonade Diet).
Thanks!
An Avid Reader :)
I am a huge fan of the juice fast/detox! The master cleanse is a good option for someone who does not own a juicer. Some people even do both the juice fast/detox and master cleanse together.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad this question was asked... I have been curious about the master cleanse too. What is the best length of time for the cleanse? 5 days seems to have worked well for me in the past, but I'm curious what you think? Also, what do you think about the author's suggestion for the herbal laxative teas / salt water flush?
ReplyDeleteI will be doing an introductory post for juice fasting and the 30-day raw soon so stay posted. But in the meantime:
