Amy was very nervous about this weigh-in because not only did she miss 4 wks of bootcamp, but she also spent wks at family reunions. The good news is, she is relentless. She is at the point where she continues to just dust off and get back in the game. She is reaching many milestones and shared that in the past she would have never gone to a family function. I am glad that her dedication and mindset is spilling over into other areas of her life. Stay tuned for Month 3 w/Amy in September!

I think I need your boot camp!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to thank everyone who commented on 2 Months with Amy and to all of those who give me words of encouragement in person. I also want to thank those who say they have come to boot camp because they have seen the blog. I am struggling with the 4 pillars right now and have gone into a pretty deep depression and I missed boot camp most of last week and Monday of this week. But I got up this morning and went to boot camp because I know we all have the power to change and affect each other’s lives. I was able to get up and go because I knew that someone might see Joy’s Blog and say “Hey this is real life and this can help me. I might fall but as long as I get back up that is what counts.” The words of encouragement and support were what got me up this morning and will get me up every morning for the rest of this boot camp. I am a winner and I truly believe that Albert Einstien was correct when he said,” Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet. “ I know when I follow the four pillars and especially the diet the other pillars fall into place. Thanks again and thanks for taking this journey with me.

You can not let your "feelings" paralyze you! If you don't "feel" like working out or eating healthy or anything else that's good for you, do it anyway! Do it in spite of how you feel. Taking action will give you a brand-new "feeling".
ReplyDeleteAmy,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for getting up and going to Boot Camp this morning! You have inspired so many people and have made such a difference in the lives of others, it is only right that you have the opportunity for change and growth, as well. In fact, you have the right to a happy, healthy, depression-free life, each and every day. And you have the right to be proud for choosing that. And you should be... You should absolutely be proud of yourself.
Sometimes we get stuck - or paralyzed, as Joy put it - in the mindset that we are too tired, or too depressed, or just plain ole' don't feel like going to boot camp or eating healthy. We justify it with crazy claims of "that time of month," "such a long day," "been good for so long" or whatever justifications you use (those are mine!). Instead, we have to immediately change our mindset. It is like quitting an addictive behavior. And yet, what better feeling than to know that you are choosing to have a happy, health-ful day.
Congratulations! We are all here to support you, to support each other, and to make our lives better... because, how else could we be Gaining Beauty - isn't that what Beauty is?!
